Embark on the Golden Circle Classic, a full-day adventure that immerses you in some of Iceland’s most stunning natural wonders. This popular tour offers a deep dive into Iceland’s most famous historical landmarks and natural marvels, all narrated by an expert guide.
Your journey begins at Þingvellir National Park, the site where Iceland’s parliament, Alþingi, was established in 930 AD. This park is not only steeped in history but also boasts extraordinary geological features, with tectonic plate boundaries creating a breathtaking landscape.
Next, you’ll visit the majestic Gullfoss waterfall, where you can walk up to the edge and feel the refreshing mist of glacial water on your skin. Afterward, explore the geothermal area home to the awe-inspiring Geysir and Strokkur hot springs, before making your way back to Reykjavik.
Embark on a scenic journey through Iceland’s dramatic south. Witness the power of nature as you explore the black sand beaches, towering waterfalls, and majestic glaciers. Marvel at the Reynisdrangar rock formations, walk behind the cascading Seljalandsfoss waterfall, and stand in awe of the Skógafoss waterfall. Discover the hidden beauty of the Mýrdalsjökull Glacier, where the active Katla volcano lies dormant beneath the ice. This unforgettable day trip offers a glimpse into Iceland’s raw and stunning landscapes.
Experience the world’s only live lava show, a must-see attraction in Iceland!
There are two exciting ways to enjoy the Lava Show in Reykjavik. The award-winning Classic Experience is a family-friendly indoor event where you can safely witness real molten lava up close. It’s a unique opportunity to learn about Icelandic geology and volcanism, and to discover the immense forces beneath the land of ice and fire.
For an elevated experience, opt for the Premium Experience, which builds on the Classic Experience with added perks:
- A complimentary aperitif upon arrival
- Exclusive access to the premium lounge
- Balcony view seats with extra heat
- A backstage tour of the furnace room
- A gift-wrapped piece of lava from the show
The show kicks off with a warm welcome from the host, followed by an educational video about Icelandic volcanism, nearby volcanoes, and the most significant eruptions in Icelandic history, highlighting the volcanic threats to the capital area. It’s an unmissable experience.
While the Lava Show is family-friendly, it’s not recommended for children under five. If you wish to bring a younger child, you can, but you’ll need to purchase a children’s ticket.
Nestled in Iceland’s southeastern corner, Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon is a breathtaking natural wonder. This glacial lake, formed by the receding Breiðamerkurjökull glacier, is a mesmerizing spectacle of floating icebergs. The icebergs, sculpted by the forces of nature, range from small, translucent shards to massive, towering structures. As they drift from the glacier towards the ocean, they create a surreal and ever-changing landscape.
Just a short distance away lies Diamond Beach, a unique black sand beach where the icebergs from Jökulsárlón wash ashore. The contrast between the dark sand and the glistening icebergs is truly striking, earning the beach its name. The icebergs, now stranded on the shore, sparkle like diamonds under the sunlight, creating a magical and photogenic scene.
Visitors to Jökulsárlón and Diamond Beach can enjoy a variety of activities, including boat tours, zodiac tours, and even ice cave tours (during winter). These tours offer the opportunity to get up close to the icebergs and explore the lagoon’s beauty. Additionally, visitors can walk along Diamond Beach, marvel at the ice formations, and capture stunning photographs.
Begin your experience with a stroll along a 300-meter lava corridor leading to the main complex. Discover the Blue Lagoon’s unique offerings across 8,700 square meters of geothermal seawater, complete with a sauna, steam room, massage waterfall, swim-up bar, and mask stations.
Immerse yourself in the mineral-rich warmth of the Blue Lagoon. Whether you choose to float in the healing waters, socialize, meditate, or simply relax, the experience is yours to shape. Your ticket includes a complimentary drink from the swim-up bar, offering a selection of juices, smoothies, soft drinks, and alcoholic beverages.
At the in-water mask bar, apply the included silica mud mask and feel your skin rejuvenate as the lagoon’s iconic healing element cleanses and revitalizes you. For an enhanced experience, return to the mask bar to purchase additional masks featuring the lagoon’s other treasures—algae, minerals, or lava.
